Guy Cohee and his 1957 Autocar

The Autocar features a styled swan-shaped hood ornament.
Cohee had considered repainting the truck to match the colors of the Autocar he drove earlier in his career. However, after learning the truck's history, he left the original paint, including the name and information from the original owner, above.
The interior, which features the original upholsery. Cohee says he finds the seats, which are far more cushioned than most seats from that era, to be more comfortable than air-ride seats.
The sleeper was added on by Lee Taylor, the original owner. Cohee says it's very similar to the sleeper he used on his 1958.
The Sleeper is a typical "coffin-style," but its doors feature an ornate, art-deco style patterns pressed into the aluminum.

The back of Guy Cohee's truck. The original owner, Lee Taylor, added the trailing axle on the back. It was not powered directly by the engine, but by a belt that ran from the front drive axle to the trailing axle. The original belt from that system is still on the truck, and the tires shown here were placed by the original owner before he put it into storage.

OOIDA member Matt Slovak brought his Trucker Buddy class to the Trucking Hall of Fame Museum at the Iowa 80 Truck Stop in Walcott, IA, recently.
