In today’s Listener’s Comment Line, Mark Reddig spoke about the California Air Resources Board inviting comments on its statewide plan to require that only environmentally clean trucks operate in the state.

The plan will require out-of-state small-fleet owner-operators to have costly particulate filters on their trucks five years from now — and have a truck that meets 2010 emission standards nine years from now.

OOIDA seeks information from truckers who serve our ports

OOIDA is negotiating with the ports to make the passes permanent for long-haul operators. To help OOIDA in its effort to keep the California ports open to long-haul owner-operators, the association is asking members to fill out a short, online survey that asks how often you go to one of the ports and what kind of equipment you operate.
